Early Morning Pickup (05:00 – 06:00 AM)
Get ready for an exciting day at Tumpak Sewu Waterfall! Your driver will pick you up from your accommodation in Malang between 05:00 and 06:00 AM, then head towards Lumajang Regency, where the stunning waterfall is located. The journey takes approximately 2 to 2.5 hours, and we start early to avoid traffic and ensure you arrive before most visitors.
What to Prepare:
- Trekking shoes or sandals with good grip (the path includes water crossings and slippery sections)
- Comfortable trekking clothes for the descent
- Extra change of clothes, as you’ll likely get wet
Important Note
This is a non-guided tour, but a local Tumpak Sewu trekking leader will be available to ensure your safety and provide access to key areas, as professional guides are not available in the region.
Exploring Tumpak Sewu – Panorama & Trek
Upon arrival, you’ll first visit the Tumpak Sewu panoramic viewpoint, where you can admire the breathtaking waterfall from above. Then, the real adventure begins! The trek down to the base of the waterfall takes around 40 minutes to 1 hour. The trail consists of stairs, rocky paths, and a waterway, so stepping carefully is crucial for a safe descent. Once you reach the bottom, you’ll have time to explore the surrounding area, take photos, and enjoy the magical atmosphere. For those seeking an extra adventure, you can continue trekking to Goa Tetes (Tetes Cave), an additional 30-minute walk from the waterfall. The total exploration time for Tumpak Sewu and its surroundings is approximately 3 to 4 hours.
Return Journey to Malang
After an unforgettable experience at Tumpak Sewu, head back to the parking area to prepare for the return trip. You can change into dry clothes before the journey back. Expect to arrive back at your accommodation in Malang around 3:00 – 4:00 PM. The return drive may take 2.5 to 3 hours, depending on afternoon traffic conditions.

- More than 48 hours before departure: Full refund.
- 24 to 48 hours before departure: 50% refund.
- Less than 24 hours before departure: No refund.

- Destination Closures – Some sites have fixed closing days. If Bromo, Ijen, or other locations close unexpectedly (e.g., ceremonies, natural causes), we offer a free reschedule for the next day. If closures persist, we provide partial or full refunds based on the completed portion of your trip.
- Force Majeure – No refunds or discounts apply for unforeseen events such as weather conditions, maintenance, or natural disasters affecting access to destinations.
- No Extra Participants or Destinations – Only confirmed participants may join, and itinerary changes are not permitted.
